Damiannah M. Kieti is an Associate Professor at Moi University and tourism expert with over 17 years of experience. She has been involved in teaching, research and consultancy in tourism and related fields. She has carried out numerous projects in tourism product development, Community based tourism development, Small and Medium Tourism Enterprises Development, tourism management plans, tourism curricula development, tourism training and research, sustainable tourism development and pro-poor tourism development. She has supervised more than 8 PhD and 25 Masters’ candidates to completion. She is an author of more than 25 journal articles and seven book chapters and served as an external examiner for 11 Universities and 2 colleges. She is the founding editor of African Journal of Tourism and Hospitality. She has held several management positions including Head of Department of Tourism and Tour Operations Management, Moi University and she is currently the Dean, School of Tourism, Hospitality and Events Management, Moi University. She was awarded Chancellor’s Excellence in Service Award in December, 2017 for Demonstrating Leadership and Enterprise in Managing the School of Tourism, Hospitality and Events Management.
Her research interests include; Services management, service quality management, Tourism planning and development, sustainable tourism, community based tourism, tourism and poverty reduction.
